With Sculptra, Youthful Skin Starts Within

One of the main causes of visible facial aging is the loss of collagen. This fibrous protein in the deep dermis gives structure to the skin and supports the functions of elastin and hyaluronic acid.

Sculptra is the FDA-approved injectable that works with your body to help replenish lost collagen and correct shallow to deep wrinkles and folds on the face. Sculptra® is made with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which helps stimulates the skin's own natural collagen production and provides natural-looking results for up to 2 years.

Sculptra treatments with our facial rejuvenation professionals in Birmingham, Alabama are clinically proven to help smooth smile lines, marionette lines, cheek wrinkles and chin wrinkles while improving overall skin quality. Sculptra can help boost your natural collagen with long-term results, even if years of collagen loss has already occurred.

Boost Your Natural Collagen Production

Collagen, the most abundant protein in the body, forms a framework that support cells and tissue in the skin and other parts of the body. Skin collagen decreases about 1% per year after age 20, adding up to a 30% collagen loss by age 50.

Sculptra is made with biocompatible, biodegradable material called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). This synthetic material is absorbed naturally by the body and has been used for years in dissolvable stitches. The microparticles found in Sculptra PLLA dermal filler are absorbed gradually, helping to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments.

Sculptra dermal filler is the first PLLA collagen stimulator FDA-approved for cheek wrinkles. When injected in the cheek area, Sculptra has been clinically shown to reduce cheek wrinkles, firm the skin and improve skin quality.

Sculptra Treatments

The number of Sculptra treatments and the number of injections per treatment vary depending on patient needs. You and your provider at Hedden & Gunn will determine the degree of correction needed and design a treatment plan to meet your goals for a younger-looking appearance. On average, a series of three treatment sessions are needed over the course of a few months.

Sculptra Results

Results with Sculptra PLLA dermal filler at Hedden & Gunn Plastic Surgery can last up to 2 years. These results appear gradually as the PLLA microparticles help stimulate collagen production as they are absorbed by the body.

Sculptra delivers its full effects with an average of three treatment sessions over the course of a few months. Because results emerge gradually, you'll see subtle, yet noticeable, results in the reduction of facial wrinkles and folds over the first couple of months following treatment.
