Biocorneum's FDA-cleared Silishield^™ technology carries the benefits of traditional silicone sheeting with the comfort and ease of a gel. This patented crosslinking silicone creates an invisible shield that feels like a second skin and helps reduce the appearance of both new and old scars.

Biocorneum can be used on scars that result from surgical and cosmetic procedures as well as trauma, wounds and burns. Self-adhering, Biocorneum creates a silicone shield on the skin, dries quickly and protects scars from sunburn. Biocorneum is also available with 1% hydrocortisone acetate to relieve itching.

How to Apply Biocorneum

Biocorneum is the self-adhering, self-drying, silicone scar treatment that can be used on every scar, every day. Biocorneum is most effective when used twice a day for the duration of treatment. The recommended minimum treatment time is 60 days for new scars and 90 days for older scars.

Application of Biocorneum is quick and easy:

• Apply a thin, even layer two times a day (morning and evening) over the scar area.
• Allow to dry completely. Wait 15 minutes before sun exposure.
• Once dry, Biocorneum can be covered with pressure garments, clothing or cosmetics.

Biocorneum Safety

BIOCORNEUM is for external use only. Avoid direct contact with eyes, mucous membranes, third degree burns and open wounds. BIOCORNEUM should not be used on damaged or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult your physician. Keep this product out of reach of children. This product has not been shown to help prevent skin cancer or early skin aging.
