Captique™ — Alabama Injectable Dermal Fillers
Captique™ is a non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler and the newest HA filler to enter
the U.S. market. It is indicated for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds).
Captique is injected just under the skin's surface to replenish volume lost during the aging process.

What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance (complex sugar) found in all living organisms. It hydrates the skin by holding in
water, and acts as a cushion and lubricant to reduce damage to the skin. Hyaluronic acid is an important component of youthful,
supple and elastic skin, helping to maintain skin volume. As we age, our skin loses hyaluronic acid, contributing to the formation of wrinkles.

What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers, such as hyaluronic acid and collagen based fillers, are substances that are injected just below the surface
of the skin to replace natural elements of the skin that are lost during the aging process. These fillers are one of the most
popular ways to rejuvenate the face and can help restore a more youthful appearance. According to the American Society for
Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the greatest increase in the past five years among all cosmetic procedures has been in
nonsurgical procedures such as the use of dermal fillers.
Hyaluronic acid provides volume to the skin while collagen provides structure and definition. By using both hyaluronic acid
and collagen based dermal fillers, physicians are able to customize treatment for the individual patient in order to achieve
the most optimal aesthetic results.

different areas of the face such as nasolabial folds (smile lines), vertical lip lines, marionette lines (lip corners) and
crow's-feet. The result is reliable, predictable and immediate with minimum downtime.

Is Captique similar to Restylane — are there any benefits over Restylane?
Captique is a non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler similar to Restylane. It is derived from the same
non-animal source as Restylane and is manufactured in a similar process. However, Captique is a softer HA compared to Restylane
and has a more favorable adverse effect profile as it relates to pain, swelling and bruising.

Are there any side effects associated with Captique?

pain and itching, it has less adverse events than other hyaluronic acid fillers of the same source on the market.

How do I maintain my correction?
Over time, hyaluronic acids are naturally absorbed by the body. Persistence (the duration of effect) is influenced by the area
treated and the amount of material used to achieve the optimal correction. Captique's persistence is similar to the other
hyaluronic acids available in the United States. Touch-up injections two to three times a year are usually needed to maintain
the correction. Many people choose to make Captique a regular part of their beauty regimen.

Is Captique all I need to rejuvenate my face?
While many people use Captique alone to correct their wrinkles, Captique is also an excellent complement to other wrinkle
correctors. However, every patient is different. You should work with your physician to develop a treatment program that meets
your individual needs.
A current trend among physicians is to use more than one injectable for wrinkle correction in combination to replace multiple
elements in the skin lost with aging, customize treatment and create the optimal look for every patient.
A physician may use a hyaluronic acid to provide skin volume and collagen to provide structural support and definition to the
skin. That's because, when used together, they replenish two of the most essential elements of youthful looking skin.
Captique is a great partner to collagens like CosmoPlast® and CosmoDerm® and other hyaluronic acids like Hylaform®
Plus. And, it also works very well with botulinum toxin type A.
Examples of combination therapy include:
- Captique in the lip and nasolabial folds and CosmoPlast around the lip border.
- CosmoDerm in the frownlines to replenish the collagen and botulinum toxin type A to relax the muscles.
