Marie's Story
My name is Marie, I am 26 years old and I had augmentation a year ago. I decided to get the surgery to replace
volume. When I was in high school I had a 34C chest and as I got older and lost weight, I also lost volume
in my breasts. When I went to see Dr. Hedden I was down to a small 34B. I am now a 34D and my breasts are
much fuller with better shaping.
I chose Dr. Hedden after two of my friends used him. I spent time on the internet looking for board certified
surgeons. My best friend used another surgeon that messed up on her. She went with a name in a phone book,
so I took my time. I loved Dr. Hedden's website and before and after pictures.
When I went for the initial consultation I was very nervous. Obviously if I wanted the surgery it was because
I was self conscious about showing anyone. So, this was a nightmare. My husband came with me and we waited
for about 10 minutes before being shown to a room. I had to take my top off and put on a soft robe before
the doctor came in. I was freaking out. Dr. Hedden was so nice and he took about two minutes to size them
with a tool before I could put the robe back on. I was worried I would have to get a lift and implants but
Dr. Hedden assured me the implants would round them out and actually lift them a bit. I scheduled surgery
as soon as I could.
I had about two months between the consultation and the surgery. I took that time to research everything
about implants. I wanted to know exactly what could go wrong and what I could do to prevent these things.
Massage is the best way to protect your investment!
On the day of the surgery we arrived at the office at 7:50 a.m. I was too excited to be nervous again. The
first thing I had to do was have pictures taken. From every conceivable angle. This was not fun but they
would never look like that again. Next I had to get an IV. The nurse had to try about five times before she
got it in. The last thing I remember is being in the surgery room with lights above and asking the nurses
if they enjoyed their jobs.
The next thing I remember is telling the nurse in the recovery room that I wanted a Burger King cheeseburger
and a Sonic coke. My husband came in to get me and we went to a nearby hotel to spend the night. We would
have to go back the next morning to see the doctor before driving home (about two hours away). My chest was
heavy and my husband had to lift me up with his hand under my back, but I felt no pain. The next few days
are foggy because I was given pain killers and anti-inflamatory drugs. I can honestly say that I do not remember
any pain at all.
I am so happy with the outcome of my surgery. My breasts are much rounder and sit up better. I could go
braless anytime but that wouldn't be wise because I want to protect my investment. I massage them still and
they are very soft and feel pretty natural. This was the best decision for me and I would do it all over
again.
