Hi, my name is Angela. I'm 37 years old and prior to my breast augmentation I was a 36A. I have always wanted a breast augmentation for as long as I can remember. I did years of research and looked at hundreds of before and after pictures. Along with doing that I also joined a message board and talked to people that had this done so I knew everything about this procedure. I read everything on their site so that I would know what to expect and what kind of things to expect after surgery.

In 2004 I finally made my decision to have this done and started to look for surgeons. I went on the PC and typed in plastic surgeons in Alabama. That is where I found Dr. Hedden. I have been told by people to go on several consultations because all surgeons are different. Well, I made my consult with Dr. Hedden and I decided after meeting with him that he was the surgeon for me. He took the time to answer ALL my questions and I was comfortable with him as a surgeon and the staff. Dr. Hedden had asked me what size I was considering and I said 375cc's and he said let me just suggest that you go with 395cc's his reason..most woman want to be bigger because once the swelling goes down you are seeing a different size. OK.. now I'm confused on what size I want so I'm playing around with the sizers trying to figure out what size I want. I left there from my consult still unsure about the size I wanted but I booked my surgery!

I went home and did the rice test in the stockings trying to figure out what I wanted. I wore the rice bags in my bras for days to get comfortable with the size I was considering. My husband thought at this point I was just boobie obsessed.which I was. I finally did come to a size though. I chose 395cc's, round implants and placed under the muscles, under the breast incision.

August 20, 2004 was my surgery. My husband and my mother were with me and they had asked a couple of times if I was nervous, NERVOUS.. no at all I was so excited that I was finally going to have breasts after all these years of being flat chested. I started to get nervous once they took me back and got the IV in my hand...then the nerves came because I knew this was it but once I woke from surgery it was OK. The only thing I felt was heaviness on my chest. I felt that way for days. I never really felt any bad pain from this. I had my surgery at 10:30 in the morning and by dinner time I wanted to go out to eat. The day after surgery was still the same way. I felt heavy on top. So, for me the recovery time was great.

May 11, 2005 was another surgery date for me. I had the right breast that had "bottomed out" which means that the right breast was sitting slightly lower then the left hand side. My husband said it was hardly noticeable but I noticed it because after a BA all you do is look at yourself so I see any little flaw. Anyway, I wanted to fixed so Dr. Hedden went back in and did what they call tacking it up. That surgery for me was a little more painful then my first but still no regrets for me..I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I have not had any physical limitations because of my breast augmentation. I'm able to workout and go about my daily life with no problems.

With my surgery like I said at the beginning of my story I was a 36A and with going with the 395cc's that put me at 36 small D. I'm very happy that I went ahead with the surgery. Wish I did it sooner. I would tell anyone considering this surgery to do your research so that you are comfortable with all the things about it. I was very well informed. I would also say GO FOR IT..it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I feel better in clothes, my self-esteem has soared. I have had nothing but support from family and friends. They all thought it was great. I was excited so I had to tell everyone I knew.

In retrospect if I could change one thing I would have gone bigger! I do plan on going bigger in the future. It's really hard to know exactly what size you want to be. I look at women in public and see women that are about my height and weight and they are bigger and I like that look. Play with all the sizers or take a bra with you of the size you want to be and see what sizers fill it.

All in all.I have had a GREAT experience. Dr. Hedden and his staff are absolutely wonderful and I would recommend them anyone!
