SofPulse Accelerated Surgical Recovery

SofPulse Targeted MicroCurrent TherapySofPulse® is a non-invasive therapy that reduces swelling and pain. SofPulse uses low intensity microcurrents of energy, delivered directly to the procedure site, to stimulate cellular activity and enhance healing, naturally. This natural cellular process allows you to get back to life faster with less use of prescription medications.

Clinical studies show that SofPulse significantly reduces edema, pain, and the requirement for post-procedure prescription medications, which leads to a faster recovery and an improved patient experience.

SofPulse is now available at Hedden Plastic Surgery for our cosmetic surgery patients who undergo breast augmentation and other surgical procedures.

Getting the outcomes you want — faster

  • SofPulse decreases your pain — Patients who use SofPulse therapy report half as much post-procedure discomfort as patients who do not use the product.
  • SofPulse reduces your swelling — Studies show that SofPulse ensures an adequate level of oxygen is able to flow to the injured tissue, therefore decreasing swelling and speeding up the recovery process.
  • Less use and reliance on medications — Because patients experience far less pain when using SofPulse, they also require far less prescription medications. Studies have shown a greater than 2.2-fold reduction in narcotic use over the first 48 hours after the procedure.

What is Accelerated Recovery?

SofPulse uses targeted microcurrents to transmit gentle pulses to the tissue to help the cells release signals that reduce swelling and speed up the natural healing process. The low levels of microcurrent are completely safe, and in fact are 1000 times lower than those emitted by a mobile phone.

How do I use SofPulse?

Your surgeon will place and activate SofPulse immediately after your procedure. It will be placed over your surgical dressing or clothing and should be removed before bathing/showering. The length of time you should use SofPulse will vary depending on the type of surgical procedure you underwent.

Are there any side-effects?

Unlike prescription drugs or narcotic painkillers, no side effects have been reported with the use of SofPulse.

Narcotic painkillers and prescription anti-inflammatory medications can result in vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, bleeding of the stomach, severe drowsiness, constipation and many other adverse side effects. With all treatments performed to date, there have been no adverse events and because SofPulse minimizes the requirement for prescription medication, there are no risks of addiction or overdose.

Indications: SofPulse is indicated for adjunctive use in the palliative treatment of postoperative pain and edema in superficial soft tissue.

Contraindications: SofPulse is not indicated as a substitute for treatment of deep tissues.

Warnings: Should not be used on patients with cardiac pacemakers or on those with metallic implants in the area of application.

Precautions: Should not be used during pregnancy or over the joints of skeletally immature patients. The long term biological effects of pulsed electromagnetic energy are not known at this time.
