BOTOX Cosmetic at Hedden Plastic Surgery

Birmingham, Alabama BOTOX Cosmetic for Frown Lines and Crow's Feet

BOTOX Cosmetic is a prescription medicine used to temporarily improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) and moderate-to-severe crow's feet lines around the sides of the eyes. Botox is the first and only product FDA-approved to temporarily treat both frown lines and crow's feet in adults from 18 to 65 years of age.

BOTOX Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow's feet — the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your doctor at our cosmetic center in Birmingham, Alabama will inject these muscles with Botox to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of these lines. The beauty of BOTOX Cosmetic is that you can treat these two areas in just one visit to Hedden Plastic Surgery.

Treatments with Botulinum Toxin are quick and minimally-invasive, requiring only a few tiny injections into the muscles that cause wrinkles. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes and discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Most patients are in and out without downtime.

BOTOX Cosmetic should only be performed by a licensed and trained aesthetic provider who has expertise in facial anatomy. Talk to your doctor about your expectations and the results you want to achieve with your Botox treatments.

BOTOX Cosmetic Treatments

BOTOX Cosmetic treatment is a quick, 10-minute procedure that requires no downtime or recovery. It's often called a lunchtime procedure.

Prior to injection, the area may be numbed with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. To temporarily improve moderate-to-severe crow's feet, your doctor will inject BOTOX Cosmetic into the muscle surrounding the sides of your eyes. For temporary improvement of moderate-to-severe frown lines, Botox is injected into two muscles.

Think two treatments, one visit. Ask your doctor about receiving BOTOX Cosmetic for moderate-to-severe frown lines and crow's feet at the same time.

BOTOX Cosmetic Results

Within days, you may see a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows. Lines continue to improve for up to 30 days and results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary.

With BOTOX Cosmetic, you can get noticeable results and still look like yourself. You should not lose the ability to show expressions when BOTOX Cosmetic is administered by an experienced injector. Although the results are visible, a Botox treatment will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you have "had work done." The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.
